Protection of Sensitive Components:
During transmitter testing or amplifier tuning, a WAVEGUIDE LOAD acts as a dummy antenna. Without a WAVEGUIDE LOAD, reflected power could destroy expensive devices such as magnetrons or solid‑state amplifiers.
Port Termination:
Connect the flanged input of the WAVEGUIDE LOAD directly to an unused waveguide port, circulator port, or directional coupler port. Ensure the flange type (e.g., UG, CPR, cover, choke) matches the system.
Cooling Requirement:
Low‑power WAVEGUIDE LOAD → natural air cooling.
Medium‑power → forced air cooling (e.g., built‑in fan).
High‑power → water‑cooled WAVEGUIDE LOAD with circulating deionized water.
